About

This blog is my own personal view of donor conception –  the issues, the questions, the family life, plus comment on media coverage and events: I’m one of the co-founders of DC Network, mother to two sons and a daughter, now adults, conceived both with and without donor help.

Huge thanks Olivia for blogging in such an honest way. I miss the DCN now that we live in Ireland but I know we’ll visit at some stage in the future. Our dear son is almost 7, and I don’t believe he would be here if we hadn’t had the support and advice of the wonderful people we met at DCN. Much blessings to you and all at DCN. D xx

Olivia, I am the mother of an egg donor, I have written my first novel: It Takes 3, which is based off of some actual events, but mostly its a recreation of a dream my daughter had, she was just 25 the first time she donated, not a mother of her own children as of yet at 33. Her last 2 donations were “open” and to the same couple…I have been on my own journey with all of this, I have a second book in the works, and I started a blog as well. In the meantime I have been spending hours and hours looking for other parents of “egg donors” in piticular, with regards to their personal feelings about the process, the outcome and most of all the children they are in fact connected to. Its been a difficult process and now I’ve found you…You have so much on your blog, I’m interested in connecting with you if possible…you can look at my blog at http://www.gametegrandparents.blogspot.com My books web address is http://www.ittakes3.me The babies are actually from my daughters eggs, they are toddlers now, but their Dads gave me permission to use them…I am in the States and this has been a journey since 2010….

Hi Olivia! I just recently found your blog and am really looking for a way to get support for a very complex family situation that is made more challenging due to family egg donation. I wrote to DCN but haven’t gotten a response. Any insight or support you can offer would be tremendous! I am also looking for support groups and don’t even know where to begin.
